Consider the glass half full: one upside of Alberta’s slowing economy in 2009 was the decrease in the number of workplace deaths. The province is due to release a report on the previous year’s work-related fatalities this month, but it seems with greater layoffs, fewer workers were killed on the job. Albertan workers won’t be injured or killed if the only job site they’ve been on in the last year was Workopolis.com.
