A peek inside Alberta’s Best Workplaces for 2011
by Max Fawcett, Geoffrey Morgan and Cailynn Klingbeil

The economic recovery is alive and well in our province, if the fourth annual edition of Alberta’s Best Workplaces is any indication. More importantly, it shows that employees are sharing in the spoils of this success. Winners and finalists in 12 categories were selected in February from among 66 qualified applications from enterprises operating in Alberta by a panel of five judges representing Alberta Venture and the Human Resources Management Association of Edmonton. Applicants were evaluated on policies, general H.R., category-specific criteria and overall excellence. Alberta’s Best Workplaces is made possible by the support of presenting sponsor, Edmonton Destination Hotels Downtown. Most of all, these awards are a credit to the companies that have put their names forward and the employees that give life to them and their values on a daily basis.
