As the president of Eveline Charles Salons and Spas, an empire that includes two full-service training academies, nine locations and an exclusive line of beauty products, she has to practice what she preaches.

On choosing clothing that suits you “I don’t like oversized clothing. That was a trend of the ’90s, with the boxy blazers or very loose fitting pants: it’s not flattering on anybody. If something is hot but doesn’t look good on me – I never go in that direction.”

On the items she’ll splurge for “For me, it’s all about the dress. The accessories you can be fun with, and there are certain pieces that I invest in that I wear almost all the time. When it comes to casual clothes I just don’t want to spend any money on it. But when it comes to dressing for work and dressing for fashion it seems that there is always enough money and I always make it happen.”

On her favourite trends “Today’s fashion is really a blend of the ’80s punches of colour with ’90s minimalism. And I love wearing those trends. The dress I’m wearing right now has bright components to it, but it also has some subtleties and some neutral spaces that make it interesting.”

On dressing casually “When it comes to weekend wear, I go all the way down to hockey mom. There is really nothing in-between in my wardrobe.”

On her current fashion muse: “Coco Rocha – she gets it right every time. She knows her own style and there is a brand that she carries with her. Although she represents many brands when she is a model for them, there is a definite feeling for what her brand is.”
