Compiled by the editors of Alberta Venture, the list names the 50 people who had the biggest impact, both individually and collectively, on shaping opinions, ideas and actions in the province over the past year. Whether beloved or controversial, Alberta’s 50 Most Influential People have created change and provoked thoughtful conversation throughout the province, the country and some even around the world.

“The men and women compiled in this issue are influential, some beyond their fields,” says Paul Marck, editor of Alberta Venture. “They all share the elusive and intangible ability to make people think, to bring them to their camp, to draw a common cause.”

In addition to the cover story, individuals featured on the list will be honoured at a charity golf tournament in support of Women Building Futures on August 17, 2010 at Silvertip Golf Resort in Canmore, Alberta. Members of the public can purchase tickets to this premier golf tournament online at http://albertaventure.com/2010-most-influential-golf-tournament/.
