Every year Alberta Venture asks businesspeople throughout the province to name the corporations and corporate leaders they most respect in a variety of categories. This year, with the help of Leger Marketing, we polled 2,500 business owners and managers for the organizations and individuals they feel exemplify the traits of honesty, foresight, leadership, focus and accountability.

Respect is a challenging concept. It takes years to build a practice record that demonstrates a company’s right to command respect, yet that effort can be undone in scant days. The legacy of respect may even make maintaining a solid corporate reputation more difficult; those who have achieved the highest standards are constantly, consciously scrutinized for a single misstep.
