Perry Michetti wants NAIT to be recognized as one of the top culinary schools in the world. Thanks to his efforts, the school is well on the way to achieving that goal. Over the past few years, Michetti, the associate dean of the School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts, has overseen great strides for NAIT’s culinary school. They built a state-of-the-art facility, have captured awards at national competitions, and became the first school in Canada to implement a chef-in-residence program. The program, Michetti’s brain child, brings award-winning chefs to the school for several days where they teach students all the tricks of the trade. Thanks to Michetti, the school has attracted the likes of Rob Feenie, Susur Lee and Chris Cosentino and continues to produce graduates that move on to become hosts of cooking shows and chefs at world-renowned restaurants.
